Are Media was the first magazine publisher in Australia to gain certification for FSC® (C075529) and PEFC (21-51-108) Chain of Custody.

PEFC, the Programme for the Endorsement of forest Certification, is a leading global alliance of national forest certification systems. As an international non-profit, non-governmental organisation, we are dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.		As the original pioneers of forest certification, FSC (forest management certification) have 25 years of experience in sustainable forest management. FSC forest management certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local people and words, while ensuring it sustains economic viability. Products carring the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
